Around 5,000 Malaysian women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Men who are diagnosed with breast cancer on the other hand, is less than one per cent the rate of women. According to an international study, less than 72% of men are likely to recover from the disease. The reason is simple then, men simply aren’t aware that this may happen to them, which lead to more than 86% of cases of breast cancer in men left unreported. 

In 2017, Neubodi would like to push breast cancer being a “Gender Blind” disease. Men whom were/still affected by this disease will speak up for the first time. To us, cycling is a sport that requires more than just stamina and endurance, it requires team work and motivation from one another. This act is very similar to the support, love and care that one requires, when going through the hardships of breast cancer. Hence, we would like to use this convoy to unite both men and women from all facets of life to ride together for one cause “PEDAL FORWARD, ERASE GENDER DISCRIMINATION”.

The bicycle convoy is an initiative pioneered in conjunction with the NEUBODI BRA DRIVE campaign.

The Neubodi Bra Drive is a campaign aimed at collecting second-hand bras from women nationwide. Held through October and November annually, Neubodi opens up it’s famous “Bra Banks” for women to drop off their unwanted bras at various collection points. All bras collected will be siphoned out. The good bras goes to supporting women in underprivileged communities, while the bad bras will be shipped off to our partner, LIFE LINE CLOTHING MALAYSIA, to be recycled into paper, plastic and bio-fuel.

Aside from that, Neubodi also uses this campaign to emphasise on the importance of breast care, and to raise breast cancer awareness. With this, Neubodi never fail to support Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) through various awareness activities and donations. In 2017, we are proud to announce aside from the bicycle convoy, Neubodi has also designed a special range of bras to be sold at all Neubodi stores. For every bra sold then, RM10 goes to BCWA.

RAISE:  This is all about challenging yourself. You need to create a crowd funding page to raise a minimum fund of RM850 per head in order to be a part of this the 18km cyclists convoy.

CYCLE:  You will be known as “HERO OF THE DAY”, where  you will be cycling with a convoy of 100 prominent men and women. This poses a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to meet and run together with country’s officials, key entrepreneurs and even prominent celebrities who have been supporting the Neubodi Bra Drive campaign since day one.  This convoy will be conducted on 7th October 2017 (Saturday), at 8AM, and followed by a celebration and a media launch event. The 18km ride will end at One Utama (new wing) main concourse, where your family and friends will be there to welcome you!

HELP: 100% of the funds that you crowd funded (minus minimal administrative and implementation costs), will go to BCWA to kick-start their new “Hospital Angels” programme where they send professionals to visit newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. These patients will join the professionals for a retreat whereby they will focus on learning to cope with their disease in an engaging, fun learning and self – motivation environment.

The trail is within Bandar Utama area. The trail is estimated to be 18KM. A marshal will lead the trail. This trail is suitable for beginner to intermediate skill levels, as some areas have moderately steep grades but very ideal for road cyclists, with its paved loop.
